Quite a long time between updates. We have been busy working away on our normal production so not much new there. We are also just about, after some delay, to send out our first US shipment of pot trolleys which I am quite excited about.
We’ve also got a new machine day too, I wrote about this earlier but it has finally arrived. Our cnc oscillating cutter (2D CNC controlled knife going up and down real fast) has come in from the same suppler that manufactured our laser engraving machine (Acctek). This machine was purchased to allow custom packaging for lover volume, but higher cost items such as the breakout DTH pads. However we’ve got quite an amount of other uses for this such as:
- Pot Trolley spacer cutting – There is quite a saving if we just buy the natural rubber sheet and cut the spacers ourselves.
- Other custom packaging – We can use this for cutting other cardboard or foam packaging for other items like our polyurethane lights or pipe spanner V2.
- Gasket Cutting – We use quite a bit of neoprene for weather proof gaskets, we can now cut these in house too.
In other news shipping is officially terrible now. Like back in the bad ‘ol days of the pandemic shipping is now very expensive and also very unreliable. Because of whats going on the world, and after waiting it out to see if it would go back to normal, I’ll be looking to increase pricing at the years end. Our major inputs of aluminium & energy have gone up considerably and there is just no point in absorbing it any longer as I’ll just get myself into trouble.
As far as new products are going, we are well underway for for the gravity cast 10″ muff coupling. We expect to get this going sometime mid to late next month. This will be the largest muff coupling wee will convert to gravity with only the 5″ to be made afterwards. At that point we’ll have the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 10″ couplings as a permanent mould gravity part, the only one to do so I believe.
