I have been toying with the idea of a new part to add to the fencing line of products we have. I have written in the past about a variable 38×25 horizontal bracket previously
but I never really settled with a design that everyone thought was practical. The other idea was to me a 25×50 bracket as we currently do not have one of these brackets and it may happen in the future as a inserting a pressure mould but that will be down the track a bit.
The last idea actually was not mine but from a customer who directed me to a steel shroud for a 4 hole post base which neatly covers all the bolts used for securing the post base down. I think a aluminium one would be better suited and it’s a pretty straightforward mould to manufacture. I have made a couple of versions of this but the picture below is the one I think we’ll go with.
The other bonus with the shroud is that you do not need to buy a powder coated post base any more the mill version will be fine as it covers up all the visible sections. I should have this ready for sale in November ’19 for ~$5 (powder coated satin black) and $4 (mill)
