New Flush Head Dynabolts

Great news on the fastener side of business. One of the main goals I wanted at Albury Casting was to supply all the parts required for a fence apart from the panel. The reason for not having the panel is that it’s simply too much to ship from Albury around Australia and competing with some of the companies already selling them is a bit of a lost cause.

While I have a good range of brackets the fasteners have nee a bit lagging. However this is about to change as I have now sourced a local supply of both wood screws as well as flush head dynabolts. If your not up with dynabolts, traditionally you would drill your hole then tap the case and bolt into the hole, place the post base over the top and finally tighten down the nut. They work great for the purpose but have 2 issues.  1) It can leave an unsightly amount of thread if the hole is too large as they work by pulling up a bolt to expand the casing left in the concrete & 2) You need to have accurately predrilled all the holes as you have to have the post base go over the bolt as it cannot fit through the holes in the casting.  These flush head versions have a threaded sleeve on the bottom so as you tun the hex head bolt it will drive the sleeve up the bolt and impact on the casing, as you keep screwing the casing will then expand to make way for the sleeve securing the dynabolt into the ground

The reasons they are better is that you are able to place the bolt through the casting meaning you can drill and bolt 1 per time while the post base is in place and not have to move it.  As well because of the way it works all you see is a hex head, much more beautiful. These will also work well with the next 4 hole post base shroud I am making the mould for.

The bolts in the picture below are M8x60 this will be our standard for post bolt and are currently rainbow plated but I will get them black zinc plated so they blend in better with the powder coated post bases.

I don’t have pricing for these yet and I plan to have them available in November ’19, please email me at keith@alcast.com.au if you would like to know more before I place them on the website.  Next post I will go over the new wood screws I have also got, see you then.
