Post 2020 Update

With the end of 2020 I must say it was pretty OK for us. Apart from not being able to travel I did not notice it too greatly as sales pretty much stayed the same if not more than the previous year as selling online grew somewhat.

I am looking at 2021 a little worried though. Shipping has become very expensive and unreliable with shipping line cutting routes but wanting to keep their same turnover (I can only imagine) Along with that secondary aluminium has increased considerably due to China buying up all the scrap. This will lead to a price increase on the website probably in February, small one but still.  I am looking forward to being set free to travel back to Malaysia, hopefully, from around May→June.  I am also wondering if there will be vaccine tourism industry as people travel to other countries to buy a dose of the vaccine?

A bit like in 2008 we were late to the party of going slow and I have a feeling that we may be the same again as we spent most of 2020 working through earlier orders from corporates that have 4-5 month leadtimes.

Moving forward I will start working our new part in the fencing line. This will be a flat 4 hole post base which fits with the shroud. It’s a low profile part but unlike the other post bases we have this one will fit around the outside of the 50×50 post rather than on the inside. I expect this will be available around July due to the horrible shipping that’s causing weeks of lost time in delays.

I am still working on the new online sales website but finding time to finish has been hard and my computer that I do the work on at home died.  Loking to have it live at the end of Jan at the latest.  On the bright side this summer has been fantastically mild.
